June 13/Seattle: Representing Mentally-Disabled Individuals in Immigration Court

This program presents an overview of common mental health conditions, their causes and symptoms, and how they may manifest themselves in an attorney-client setting from a mental health practitioner’s perspective.  The ethical ramifications for a practitioner, specifically Rule 1.14, the nuts and bolts of competency hearings in immigration court as they are evolving, how advocates can best prepare for these hearings and other practice pointers will be features.
