April 16: Minneapolis - Mass Incarceration: Explaining Dramatic Differences in State Incarceration Rates #MCLE

Incarceration rates in the United States rose 500% from the late 1970s through the 2000s. Attention to overall increases, however, masks a wide range of patterns of incarceration across states. This panel will discuss research on patterns of incarcerations across states over time with consideration to the implications for contemporary state-level debates on incarceration and sentencing policy.
