  • Panel 1: The From Page to Screen: The Law and Art of Adaptation will explore how lawyers enable creators to adapt novels and other written works for film, television, and audiobooks. Panelists will examine copyright and other IP considerations, content licensing agreements, and recent high-profile production deals shaping the field. The discussion will highlight the practical challenges and best practices for attorneys representing studios, authors, and other creatives navigating the intersection of law, art, and storytelling.
  • Panel 2: The Right of Publicity and Celebrity in the Digital Age will examine the evolving legal and ethical challenges surrounding privacy and the right of publicity. The panel will explore how courts, legislators, and industry professionals are addressing the use of name, image, and likeness in an era of AI-generated content and deepfakes. The discussion will highlight emerging laws on the right of publicity and the negotiation of privacy in entertainment contracts.
  • Panel 3: Blurred Lines: Sampling, Interpolations, and Emerging Issues in Music Copyright Law will explore how modern music copyright law is evolving in response to disputes over sampling, interpolations, and emerging technologies. As conflicts grow, courts and creators must draw the line between lawful inspiration and infringement. Panelists will examine current trends in infringement claims, the financial and practical implications of clearing rights, and the legal uncertainties raised by emerging technologies. The discussion will also address best practices for sampling and rights clearance, as well as how copyright law may evolve as AI becomes a regular part of music creation.
