Nora Jordan retired as a partner at Davis Polk on December 31, 2020 after 37 years at the firm and after heading the Firm’s Investment Management practice for over 20 years. Nora’s practice focused on advising hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity funds, and the managers and directors who oversee them. She worked on numerous internal and SEC investigations involving asset managers, as well as acquisitions, reorganizations and restructurings of asset managers. She served on numerous Davis Polk committees, including the Compensation and Recruiting Committees. She is now Senior Counsel to the Firm.
She is an independent director on the board of a Fortune 500 public company where she serves on the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee, the vice chair of the board of the American Skin Association, on the advisory board of the Global Financial Markets Center at Duke Law School and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

On Demand: FEMA’s COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program

This Briefing will cover two policy updates from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): 1) the COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Program and 2) recent updates to the FEMA Individual Assistance Program and Policy Guide.
In April 2021, FEMA announced financial assistance would be made available for COVID-19 funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. This funding is available under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. In June 2021, the agency announced it would provide flexibility for documentation requirements. FEMA also recently updated the Individual Assistance Program and Policy Guide, which outlines FEMA’s assistance programs after a disaster declaration.

September 23: New Vaccine Mandates from the Biden Administration

President Biden has announced an imminent Emergency Temporary Standard from OSHA that will require all employers with more than 100 employees to mandate COVID-19 vaccination or weekly testing. Similar rules have been announced for federal contractors and health care facilities that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding.
