DESCRIPTION

"The Association is committed to ending discrimination against people with diabetes at work, at school, and throughout their lives. We do this through a collaboration of lawyers with expertise in disability discrimination law and health care professionals who are the nation's leaders in the science and management of diabetes. Attendees are invited to join our ADA Attorney Network.

This event provides attorneys with the information and resources needed to assist people with diabetes facing discrimination at school and in the workplace through a variety of methods ranging from education and negotiation to litigation and legislation.

The Agenda Will Include:

* A focus on the "ADA Amendments Act of 2008" (ADAAA) and its impact on adults and children with diabetes
* Plenary sessions on the science and management of diabetes and related discrimination issues
* Separate program tracks for diabetes-related discrimination in employment and education
* Practical sessions on how to resolve diabetes discrimination problems
* Information on the American Diabetes Association and other resources to assist in diabetes related litigation

The program will benefit both lawyers who want to gain a better understanding of the science of diabetes as it impacts legal rights in employment and education, and lawyers who understand the management of diabetes but who want to learn more about education and employment disability discrimination law.

This program will provide Continuing Legal Education credit.

Editor's Note: this program is not quite free, but "The $50 registration fee includes materials and meals (two breakfasts, one lunch, and snacks) during the seminar, as well as membership in the American Diabetes Association. In my editorial judgment, association membership plus three meals makes the fee for CLE basically zero.
