January 28: Mass Incarceration Reconsidered: The Drivers and Consequences of Long and Life Prison Sentences in Washington State

Long and life sentences have grown significantly across the United States, including in Washington. Faculty will use quantitative and qualitative data to explore the policy drivers behind this significant component of mass incarceration, and to also explore the consequences of these sentences for both prisoners and prison facilities.
