- Melissa A. Siebert, Partner, Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P, concentrates her practice in complex class action litigation and leads Shook’s biometric privacy practice, defending biometric technology users and providers in federal and state courts. Melissa’s experience handling Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) cases has made her one of the leading lawyers in the rapidly developing area of biometric privacy. In addition to her biometric data privacy practice, Melissa has substantial experience representing employers in labor matters as both in-house and outside counsel on a variety of strategic and day-to-day issues, including complex internal investigations, policy review, and high-level noncompetition and compliance issues. Before joining Shook, Melissa was a partner at BakerHostetler in Chicago, served as in-house labor and employment counsel for Tribune Company, and held several positions as a human resources executive.
- Elliot R. Golding is a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Squire Patton Boggs. As a member of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice and the Healthcare Industry Group Leadership Team, he provides business-oriented privacy and cybersecurity advice to companies handling healthcare and other personal data. Elliot assists clients in developing and implementing information governance programs, drafting privacy and security policies, preparing and testing data breach response plans, and negotiating complex data agreements. He also has managed dozens of breach response matters for companies through investigation, notification, remediation and engagement with regulators, and defended clients in litigation by State Attorneys General under state security breach notification laws and HIPAA. Elliot co-chairs the E-Privacy Committee within the ABA Section of Science and Technology Law and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). He has a J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from George Washington University School of Law and a B.A., with distinction, from University of Virginia.
