January 15: Navigating Your Early Years in Corporate Transactions

This webinar is designed for new and junior transactional attorneys, providing practical insights into what it takes to succeed in the early years of corporate transactions work. A panel of experienced practitioners will share guidance on bridging the gap between law school and real deal work and building the skills needed to thrive in transactional practice. 
The webinar will outline what to expect as you begin practicing and offer practical advice for handling challenges in due diligence, deal management, and complex negotiations. It will break down the core competencies every transactional attorney needs, including contract drafting, client communication, and understanding clients’ business and commercial priorities. Panelists will also explore the role of AI in transactional practice and how you may leverage AI to stay competitive.
 Learning Objectives: Equip junior transactional attorneys with recommendations for understanding the deal lifecycle and how different tasks fit together. Provide practical guidance on effectively navigating transactional work, including managing assignments, deal timelines, and common challenges in transactional practice. Identify core transactional skills, such as contract drafting, due diligence, negotiation support, and effective communication with senior lawyers and clients. Provide strategies for using mentorship, professional development, and emerging technologies—including AI—to accelerate growth and support effective deal work. Speakers:
  • Andrea Molina is a Senior Legal Analyst for the Transactions team at Bloomberg Law, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to joining Bloomberg Law, Andrea worked as an associate at an AM Law 100 firm and as in-house counsel at a diversified investment company in Latin America. Andrea received her LL.B. from the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain and LL.M. from Duke University School of Law.
  • Juan Ignacio Olivera Pino is a Vice President at JPMorganChase, focusing on providing legal support to corporate transactions. He received his JD equivalent from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Santa Fe, Argentina, holds a master’s degree in business law from the Universidad Austral in Argentina, and holds an LL.M. from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Juan is also a law professor who teaches a variety of classes including bankruptcy law, banking and capital markets law, business associations, and transnational companies and foreign investments.
  • Agata Radajczyk is an associate in Clifford Chance’s Global Financial Markets group in New York. She advises financial institutions, development finance institutions, and corporate clients on capital markets and energy and infrastructure financing transactions across Latin America and Europe, including project bonds, securitizations, and high-yield debt. Agata began her career in Buenos Aires, Argentina as a foreign associate at Marval O’Farrell Mairal after qualifying as an abogado in Madrid, Spain in 2013. She later earned an LL.M. from Duke University School of Law, was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law in New York, and has worked in both the New York and Madrid offices of Clifford Chance since joining the firm in 2022.
  • Bethany Krystek is an associate in the Corporate Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington D.C. office. She is a member of the Fintech practice and focuses on regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters relating to bank and non-bank financial institutions, financial services and financial technology companies, payment networks, and investment firms. Bethany is experienced in advising clients on acquisitions and investments and in negotiating commercial agreements between parties in the global payments space. As part of her transactional practice, she prepares and negotiates agreements by and between banks, emerging companies, non-bank lenders, card networks, money transmitters, program managers, and others within the banking and financial technology sector. Bethany received her B.S. from the University of Southern California and J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
