A panel of special guests will discuss and answer your questions regarding low income and undocumented taxpayers. Topics to be addressed include:
- ITIN's, the mechanism for undocumented workers to pay federal income tax
- Tax credits available to ITIN users
- Issues surrounding the claiming of dependents living in Mexico
- Oregon Department of Revenue's position on dependents living in Mexico
- ITIN fraud and mistakes by tax preparers
- Identity theft
- Effectively working with Hispanic immigrant populations who are experiencing fear, language barriers, misinformation, and lack of experience with our tax system
