Law is often taught as a series of topics, like torts, contract, constitutional law, etc. That approach emphasizes the theory of law, but not the practice of it. The practice of law is all about the relationships we form — with our clients, with colleagues, with our families. The psychological challenges that arise in legal practice are rarely the result of a cognitive challenge in understanding the principles of law that are at stake.
