Join Ms. Naoko Shatz as she examines steps that American lawyers or businesses can take to protect themselves from liability for conduct by its Japanese business partners, when drafting and negotiating agreements for cross-border transactions. Examples of recent cross-border transactions and related agreements that have been drafted and negotiated will be introduced to identify the common issues and pitfalls. In addition, business problems in conjunction with the legal issues unique to Japanese corporations will also be discussed to distinguish between domestic and international corporate work.
