October 22: Common Construction Defects

This program is a tour of the wild world of construction defects, providing context to the most common issues faced in our industry. Looking at the “big picture” is often the first step in alleviating the headaches construction defects bring to your professional life. This course will examine what the most common defects look like as well as their causes, define a good defect list and highlight the importance of making it correctly, explain the fundamentals of analyzing construction defects, and discuss the construction defect life cycle and how to prevent it from starting again. Anyone involved in the design, construction, ownership, maintenance, inspection, insurance, or litigation of building projects (residential, commercial, or otherwise) would benefit from a strong understanding of Common Construction Defects."
