August 24: Allocation of Responsibility in Subrogation Claims

Sometimes responsibility for an insurance claim for property damage or injury is straight forward and there is no question about who or what is responsible; like when a driver hits a parked car. But often there IS a question! And if there is, we have a process for analyzing the claim, figuring out who should be involved, allocating responsibility, and packaging claims against those responsible parties. The analysis often includes a combination of indisputable "science" and the "art" of applying professional judgment or expert opinions.
