August 29: The Constitution & Police Reform: Lessons from Connecticut and DC Litigation

Extra Mile Law, PLLC, is pleased to present another CLE class in its Monday CLE webinar series.
In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, Connecticut and the District of Columbia enacted legislation aimed at police reform. In each case, the legislation was challenged in court on several grounds including constitutional.
In this basic, fast-moving class, we will look at how the lawsuits in Connecticut and the District of Columbia have fared, with a focus on the Constitutional issues raised in the litigations. In particular, we will discuss the Contracts Clause, the Equal Protection Clause, and the Due Process Clause.
