August 21: Microsoft Word for Legal Professionals

Drafting a legal document shouldn't feel like a battle. But for many lawyers, Microsoft Word is a daily source of frustration.
From weird, nonsensical paste jobs to format frustrations, Word often feels like it’s working against you. And when you're under pressure to get pleadings out the door or share documents with opposing counsel, these issues become more than just annoying—they can cost you time, money, and even credibility.
This CLE is here to change that. In just one hour, you'll learn how to use Microsoft Word like a legal pro. Attorney Jordan Turk will show you how to build cleaner documents, format them quickly and consistently, protect your work from unwanted edits, and strip out metadata before sending anything out the door. Whether you’re drafting pleadings, contracts, or client letters, this session will help you stop wrestling with Word and start getting results.
‍In this free CLE webinar, you'll learn about:
  • How to use and set up keyboard shortcuts in Word for maximum efficiency
  • Proper document formatting techniques and customization of Word's default features
  • Techniques to secure your documents and remove sensitive metadata
  • Effective integration of Word with legal technology tools, such as case management software
  • How to leverage document templates to enhance productivity.

Speaker:
Jordan Turk is a practicing attorney in Texas, and the Director of Attorney Education and Development at Smokeball. Her family law expertise includes complex property division and contentious custody cases, as well as appeals and prenuptial agreements. In addition to her family law practice, she’s passionate about legal technology and how it can revolutionize law firms. Jordan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Classics, History, and Religious Studies and then went on to attend the University of Arkansas School of Law to earn her J.D. After almost four years of practice with a high-asset family law firm in Houston (and after being frustrated at the lack of automation in her firm), she discovered the world of legal technology which ultimately brought her to Smokeball. In Hacking Law Firm Success with Jordan Turk, she interviews law firm founders about how they grew and scaled their practices, as well as their ethos behind managing a firm.
