Apr 28/Newark, NJ - Children’s Special Education Advocacy Training

Join fellow attorneys for a FREE, full-day special education law training. The training is designed to provide attorneys with the skills they need to represent parents and caretakers of children with special education needs.
There is an overwhelming need in New Jersey for attorneys to provide pro bono legal assistance to children with disabilities. Special education cases can include:
1. Children with disabilities who have been denied appropriate special education services;
2. Children with disabilities who are receiving no educational services;
3. Inappropriate placement of children with disabilities.
These children urgently need legal help. By attending this full-day training on Thursday, April 28, 2011, we ask that you commit to take one pro bono assignment to assist qualified indigent parents or caretakers obtain special education services for children with disabilities.

This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for seven hours total CLE credit. Of this, zero qualify as hours of credit for ethics/professionalism, and zero qualify as hours of credit toward certification in civil trial law, criminal trial law, workers compensation law and/or matrimonial law. This transitional/non-transitional CLE program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of seven credit hours, which can be applied towards the Skills requirement.
