Mar 7/Cleveland, OH - From Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy to Medical Child Abuse: Shifting Focus to the Victim and Away from the Abuser

Physicians and attorneys will address the issues surrounding medical child abuse.  Attendees will learn the history of Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy and medical child abuse, and find out  why the legal and medical communities strive to rid their vocabularies of the term, “Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy.”  Additionally, the physicians will discuss how medical child abuse can be detected and the appropriate steps to ensure a child's safety.  Finally, the attorneys will highlight the relevant Ohio Revised Code Sections that are impacted by medical child abuse.

A reception in the Atrium will follow the program.
