January 17/Milwaukee: Judicial Campaigns, Money and the Future of Justice

The Wisconsin Supreme Court, a non-partisan court, has recently seen persistent partisan divide.  Additionally, Supreme Court campaigns nationwide continue to be inundated with big money contributions, with nearly $28 million spent on television ads alone in 2012.  The increasing role of campaign contributions in judicial races poses unique challenges to maintaining an independent and impartial judiciary, and the public's trust in our system of justice.
The ACS Milwaukee Lawyer Chapter invites The Honorable Ann Walsh Bradley and Mike McCabe, to share their insight and perspectives on our growing crisis in state courts.  Come learn about the pressures and influences facing judges, how they strive to remain objective despite them and steps to take to solve this problem properly.
