July 18/Chaska, MN: Uncovering Five Myths That Support Racism #MCLE

Racism is not a thing of the past. Discrimination is still a fact of life for many people of color and immigrants, especially in housing, employment, and education. Disparities in income, education achievement, and representation in the criminal justice system have been created, and are maintained, by the complex set of conditions and relationships that result in institutional and systemical racism. Being able to talk about race and racism openly is a first step in being able to address it during the practice of law and the administration of justice. Participants will openly discuss scenarios and complete accompanying activities that are designed to help them explore and understand their perspectives and behaviors on the issue of how racism is supported in our society.
