Learn how lack of immigration status impairs a survivor's chances of putting her life together, how to spot immigration issues in your cases, what options are available to a survivor under current immigration law, and how to assist with securing evidence necessary for a VAWA-based green card and U visa status.


Legal Services of Southern Missouri (LSOSM) is proud to offer free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events to attorneys who are part of our Judicare and Volunteer Lawyer Panels. Judicare Panel members are attorneys who have agreed to handle LSOSM cases as a reduced fee. Volunteer Lawyer Panel members are attorneys who have agreed to handle LSOSM cases free of charge.

Speaker's Bio: Mira Mdivani is a business immigration attorney at the Mdivani Law Firm, KS. Mira's pro bono work focuses on helping immigrant survivors of domestic violence. Her pro bono work has been recognized by the American
Immigration Lawyers Association, The Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar
Association, and the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas
City. Mira chairs the Missouri Bar Immigration Committee. She teaches
immigration law, including a course on Immigrant Survivors of Domestic
Violence, as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law.
