Bias in the courtroom usually conjures up images of lawyers engaging in discriminatory jury selection or judges or juries being biased toward one of the litigants. Rarely does the issue arise of racial bias directed by jurors toward a party’s attorney. Even more rare is direct evidence of such bias.
In this presentation, Professor Chang will discuss how a better understanding of the existence and operation of bias can allow you to anticipate and address its effects in a professional responsible manner.
