April 18: Teleconference - The Voting Rights Amendment Act: The Legislative Response to Shelby County

A bipartisan group of legislators recently introduced the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014 (“VRAA”), which seeks to fill some of the gaps left by the Supreme Court’s devastating decision last summer in Shelby County v. Holder. What would the VRAA do to address discrimination in voting? Where does the bill stand in the legislative process?
Please join us to answer these questions and others with Lisa Bornstein, a key staff member within the coalition of civil rights organizations seeking to advance this legislation.
