March 20: New Federal Paid Sick Leave Law and What It Means for Employers

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” and it is expected to be passed in the Senate and signed by the president this week. This important law is expected to have an impact on employers, creating new entitlements to paid leave and broadening the Family and Medical Leave Act. The law will have an immediate impact on employers and include new protections for workers who miss work for reasons related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
