April 29: Forensic Analysis of Fire Caused by Improper Fireplace Installation

This webinar will discuss fireplace system installation defects and how to determine the correct cause of a residential fire originating at a wood burning fireplace with a gas log lighter.
The presenters will discuss the importance of selecting the right expert to conduct the investigation, the need for subrogation counsel to challenge their own experts’ opinions, and avoiding expectation bias. The discussion will highlight the potential for an engineer to determine the cause of loss through exemplar testing when the opportunity to conduct a proper scene investigation is not available.
