September 13: What's Cookin'? Intellectual Property and Recipes

Join Jonathan Grad of Extra Mile Law, PLLC for this fast-moving, basic class about the various tools for protecting the intellectual property behind recipes and the plating of food. In particular, we will look at whether patent, copyright, and trademark/trade dress are appropriate forms of protections for recipes and, time permitting, the plating of food. We will also briefly discuss the role of trade secrets and community norms in protecting the intellectual property behind recipes and the plating of food.
