September 15: Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias and the Struggle for Equality

Fordham Law Professor, Center on Race, Law and Justice Associate Faculty Director and critical race relations expert Professor Hernandez's new book Racial Innocence: Unmasking Latino Anti-Black Bias and the Struggle for Equality is the first comprehensive book about anti-Black bias in the Latino community that unpacks the misconception that Latinos are “exempt” from racism due to their ethnicity and multicultural background. In this Author meets Reader session that will be kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month, Professor Hernandez will be joined by Smith College Professor of Africana Studies, Pablo José López Oro; Associate Human Rights Specialist at the New York City Commission on Human Rights, Abraham Tejeda; and Ford Foundation's Senior Program Officer, Juliet Mureriwa in a discussion about her book.
