October 10: World Day Against the Death Penalty: From Advocacy to Abolition

October 10 is World Day Against the Death Penalty. This year The Advocates For Human Rights will be holding an event to discuss how we use international advocacy to promote legal reform to abolish capital punishment worldwide. We will also highlight recent successes in Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, and the Central African Republic.
Amy Bergquist, Senior Staff Attorney at The Advocates and Vice President of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty, will report on The Advocates' latest efforts at the UN, fresh from Geneva. Reception to follow for in-person attendees.
