July 15 Deadline: applications for scholarships to Nat'l Defender Training Sep 9-10 in Las Vegas

2011 National Defender Training Program in Las Vegas Sep 9-10 has a JULY 15, 2011 DEADLINE for scholarship applications. Qualifying attorneys may not only get this CLE for free but may get a scholarship, but only if you follow the application directions and otherwise qualify. This is for defense attorneys and their supervisors who intend to put their learnings to use and to share them as detailed below. If you qualify, this appears to be a very substantial opportunity for those who practice in the relevant field of law.

• PLEDGE TO SHARE INFORMATION AND SKILLS
  Participants will be asked to share what they have learned and to continue the trainings.Supervisors: Within 8 months, we hope that participants will conduct a training program similar to this training curriculum for their office or submit a plan describing the training they or others will conduct in your office. After the program we hope that they will report to us on the training.Trial Attorneys (Staff Attorneys): Within 8 months, we hope that participants will a) conduct a training similar to this training curriculum; b) work with other attorneys at their office to present such a training, or c) share the training curriculum and video links with colleagues.Assigned Counsel: Within 8 months, we hope that participants will a) conduct a training based on this training curriculum for other assigned counsel in their jurisdiction; b) work with their program supervisors to present a training, or c) share the training curriculum and video links with other assigned counsel in their jurisdiction.
