September 22/Minneapolis: Empirical Professional #Ethics: Ethical Development in the Learning and Practice of Law #MCLE

Eleven faculty representing seven different law schools and academic research institutions from around the country will share their empirical research concerning professionalism, ethical professional identity, law firm or department ethical culture, rules compliance, preventive law and risk management, and the nature of competition and cooperation in legal education.
The event will feature 10 papers to be published in the University of St. Thomas Law Journal.

  • Heather Bock is a visiting professor and Executive Director for the Center for the Study of the Legal Profession at Georgetown Law
  • Lori Berman is an adjunct professor law at Georgetown Law and Director of Professional Development at Hogan Lovells, US LLP
  • Juliet Aiken is Deputy Director at Center for the Study of the Legal Profession at Georgetown Law
  • Daisy Hurst Floyd is University Professor of Law and Ethical Formation at Mercer University School of Law, where she served as Dean from 2004 until 2010.
  • Susan Fortney is the Howard Lichtenstein Distinguished Professor of Legal Ethics and Director of the Institute for the Study of Legal Ethics at Hofstra University School of Law.
  • Neil Hamilton is a professor of law and Interim Dean at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and Director of the UST Law Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions.
  • Verna Monson is a research fellow at the UST Law Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions. She is an educational psychologist specializing in ethics education in the professions.
  • Jerry Organ is a professor of law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and Associate Director of the UST Law Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions.
  • Michael Krauss is a professor of law at George Mason University School of Law.
  • Jeremy Kidd is an assistant professor of law at Mercer University School of Law.
  • Larry Krieger is a clinical professor and Director of Clinical Externship Programs at Florida State University College of Law.
  • David Johnson is professor emeritus and Co-Director of the Cooperative Learning Center in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota.
