Professor Jonathan Kahn will discuss his new book, Race in a Bottle: The Story of BiDil and Racialized Medicine in a Post-Genomic Age. This book examines how law, science, and commerce converge in the field of biomedicine to produce distinctive understandings and uses of race as a central organizing concept in the development of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology patents and related medical practice in a post-genomic age.
A reception will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Peterson Lounge, and the presentation will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Room 105.
