Buildings have become increasingly complex over the recent decades. "MEP", a common abbreviation for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, are typically the most complex systems in any building. They are the systems that humans commonly interact with, often daily. When they don't work as expected, people get sad or mad. For each of these two complex systems we will explain their evolution in buildings, from nonexistent to today's intricate assemblies that are part manufactured and part site-built, how they work, and the conditions and certain failures we find.
We will explore investigation of these systems in construction defect litigation and other types of building claims, and how we have helped clients make good decisions in tough situations.
