- Recent developments in NY case law and foreclosure practices, including statutory and case law;
- The New York Attorney General’s recent efforts against Wells Fargo & Co. to enforce the National Mortgage Settlement;
- An overview of recent national settlements between the states and federal government and the largest players in the loan servicing industry. These settlements include the recent Consent Judgment with Ocwen Loan Servicing, LLC and the settlement with JPMorgan Chase, the largest settlement against a single entity to date. The consumer relief components of these settlements will be discussed;
- Increases in servicing transfer practices and areas of concern for law enforcement officials;
- The New York foreclosure “shadow docket” problem and the NY Attorney General’s law enforcement response to this problem; and
- Brief update on foreclosure statistics in New York.
