November 5: Saint Paul - Significant Developments in Domestic and International Dispute Resolution

Description:
This program will focus on recent developments in mediation and arbitration both domestically and internationally. The first session (9-10 a.m.) will consider the recent European Union Directive on mandatory mediation. This part of the program will compare the role of mediation in the EU and in the US, with an eye towards understanding how trends in the EU might imnpact US counsel.
The second session (10:15-Noon) will focus on several high-profile, recent trends in commercial arbitration, domestically and internationally. More specifically, this session will consider consolidation and joinder in arbitration, class action arbitration, and appellate arbitration.
