March 19: Web - Shared-Use Agreements to Support Public Health: Evidence-Based Best Practices and Lessons from the Field

As obesity levels continue to rise in the United States, public health authorities are seeking opportunities to encourage physical activity within communities. Research has shown that there is a positive association between proximity to parks and recreational facilities and increased physical activity levels.
Shared-use agreements and community use policies in many cases represent a cost-effective way to open school property to programming shared between schools and community-based groups that are aimed at increasing physical activity.
This webinar will explore the nature of shared-use agreements and community use policies and their potential impact on communities. Attendees will hear from researchers and legal experts who will offer evidence-based best practices, as well as experiences from the field.
