June 30: Webcast - Technology Addiction: Beyond Drugs and Alcohol (Washington State #MCLE)

How long can you go without internet, email or your smartphone? If your phone rings or beeps, can you ignore it and keep your focus on your client in front of you? How does our dependence on technology affect our wellbeing? A quick search on the internet produces hundreds of articles and quizzes to assess “tech addiction.” The interest in technology’s impact on our wellbeing and behavior is not limited to popular media; social science research and writing about internet addiction have increased dramatically in the past 15 years.
Dr. Christeine Terry will define “tech addiction” and discuss issues for attorneys surrounding this new condition. Attend this 1.5 hour interactive presentation to:

  • Receive practical tips and concrete resources you can use in your practice
  • Learn to identify problematic technology use (a.k.a. “tech addiction”)
  • Gain awareness of available treatment options.

Registration for the June installment of the Legal Lunchbox Series will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29.
