This is part of ALRP’s new Immigration Training Series. Because all of our clients are living with HIV/AIDS and many are LGBT, we are frequently approached by people who have suffered abuse and intolerance in their countries of origin who are seeking protection in the United States. This training will provide an overview of Immigration Court procedures, including discussion of the most common procedural rules and practices. Learn what happens at a Master Calendar hearing, how to file applications for relief and supporting documents, how to prepare for the Individual Hearing on the merits, and how to present a case at the Individual Hearing.
All active ALRP Panel Attorneys and associates at partner pro bono law firms are welcome to attend any of ALRP’s free MCLE trainings. Attorneys who are not currently members of the Panel are requested to join our Panel and accept two ALRP referrals in the next year. Pre-registration is required to attend.
