October 20: San Francisco - Transferring Assets at Death: Do You Really Need a Probate?

It may not be necessary to have an Executor appointed and to open a lengthy and cumbersome court-supervised probate proceeding in order to transfer ownership of assets from a decedent to his or her beneficiaries or heirs. This program will provide a framework for analyzing whether a probate proceeding is needed and participants will learn when and how to use the numerous short-cut and summary procedures available to potentially avoid probate.
All active ALRP Panel Attorneys and associates at partner pro bono law firms are welcome to attend any of ALRP’s free MCLE trainings. Attorneys who are not currently members of the Panel are requested to join our Panel and accept two ALRP referrals in the next year. Pre-registration is required to attend.
