Join Jonathan Grad of Extra Mile Law, PLLC, as he shows you what every lawyer should know about using Microsoft Excel. This basic level course will cover aspects of Microsoft Excel which every lawyer should know including:

1. navigating a spreadsheet (including using Split);
2. using freeze panes to keep an area of a spreadsheet visible;
3. working with multiple worksheets in a workbook;
4. adding notes and comments to spreadsheets;
5. the power of templates;
6. inserting legal symbols and hyperlinks;
7. tricks for inserting commonly used text;
8. sorting and filtering data;
9. hiding/unhiding data including columns/rows and worksheets;
10. protecting data and spreadsheets by locking cells, worksheets and files;
11. removing metadata from files;
12. formatting and printing spreadsheets; and
13. much more.

The class will include examples relevant to attorneys (e.g., tracking billable time, reviewing data received from clients/opposing parties, etc.). It will also include tips regarding safeguarding clients' data and avoiding ethical traps.
