Debt Collection Defense: On-Demand #MCLE

Due to the economic crisis, there is a surge in debt collection lawsuits. Most of these lawsuits result in default judgments as pro per litigants have no idea how to respond to the summons and complaint. The majority of these complaints are filed en masse and often the creditor lacks evidence to prove the accuracy of the underlying debt and the proper assignment of the debt if it has been assigned to a third party debt collector.
Learn how to assist defendants in debt collection litigation and how to help impoverished clients protect their minimal assets. Strategies for assistance pre-litigation, during litigation and post-judgment will be discussed.
