Michael Waldman will discuss his new book,
The Second Amendment: A Biography, which offers the first post-Newtown assessment of how the Second Amendment has been interpreted over time, including the radically different perspectives of the Founding Fathers, the growing influence of the National Rifle Association, and how gun rights play into the culture wars. Mr. Waldman offers a historical perspective on the fierce debate to decide how much militia the nation should support and presents a compelling argument for the need for the ascendancy of a progressive jurisprudence. Publisher’s Weekly recently called the book, “the best narrative of its subject.”
