Speaker:
Fred Corbit has practiced law since 1980. Presently he is an attorney at the Northwest Justice Project (NJP). Prior to going into public service at the NJP on August 31 of this year, he was a partner at Heller Ehrman LLP, where he represented companies and individuals from across the country in connection with issues related to finance, real estate, acquisitions and sales, business litigation, and bankruptcy. Prior to joining Heller Ehrman in 1989, Fred was a partner at the Lasher law firm in Seattle.
Throughout Fred’s professional career, he has lectured at Continuing Legal Education programs and has published numerous law related articles. Mr. Leen is a member of the Deed of Trust Revision Committee of the Washington State Bar Association. He recently completed a four year term as Trustee of the Legal Foundation of Washington, which distributes IOLTA funds to low income legal service providers.
Who May Use This Course:
  • If you have volunteered for WSBA's Home Foreclosure Legal Aid Project or are performing other foreclosure related pro bono activities, you are eligible to receive free MCLE credit for completing these training programs. All you have to do is certify that you have watched them (requires login).
  • For non-credit education, the recording may be viewed by anyone.
Sponsors:
  • Washington State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education
  • Home Foreclosure Legal Aid Project
Editorial Note:
If you are interested in developing a practice in foreclosure or any related subject, participating in this project is a no-brainer! You get training, support and clients; the only real cost is that you must provide pro bono service, which is an ethical requirement anyway. You are highly unlikely to find a better way to break into this field with the support you need to succeed; this is truly a case of "doing well while doing good"! - REW
