Attorneys will be trained to represent inMotion-referred clients in litigated divorce actions in Supreme Court. Procedural and substantive aspects will be discussed in detail including equitable distribution of marital property, maintenance, child support and child custody and visitation. Recent changes in matrimonial law, including no-fault divorce and the guidelines for calculating temporary maintenance during the pendency of a divorce, will be highlighted. Training manuals and sample documents will be provided at the training.
A contested divorce case will be assigned at the training or shortly thereafter. Attorneys can work on the case individually or as part of a team of two or more attorneys.
