March 3: Navigating Medicare & Individual Health Insurance

This webinar will highlight best practices for purchasing individual coverage through the marketplace, establishing a small business health insurance plan, and an intro to the Medicare program. We'll look at how Medicare works alongside group coverage and how to set up your coverage properly the first time so that you avoid overpaying and lifetime penalties for missing enrollment deadlines.
As you approach retirement, health insurance is often one of the biggest monthly expenses you have and getting this wrong can have significant financial consequences. Our federal insurance program, Medicare, starts the first day of the month you turn 65 and creates opportunities as well as decisions that need to be made at the appropriate time. This webinar will explore the moving parts of Medicare, the costs of Medicare (it isn't free), and how to sign up for the plan that most appropriately fits your needs. We'll discuss common situations/mistakes made and how to avoid them.
For those that are just starting their own practices (or are a number of years away from Medicare) the individual market has undergone significant changes over the last 10 years. We'll touch on this market and how to navigate it successfully while running a successful, growing practice. As your firm grows, we'll discuss the pros/cons of offering group coverage along with other options that small firms may have available to attract/retain talent.
