July 23/Web: Walkway Accident Investigations

On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. ET, The TASA Group, Inc., in conjunction with construction expert David Doddridge, will present a free, one-hour, interactive webinar, Walking & Working Surface Investigations, for all legal professionals.
During this program, the presenter will:
  • Cover some of the most common types of flooring and their characteristics
  • Review common maintenance techniques and potential problems associated with them
  • Identify methods of testing a floor and the equipment used
  • Provide definitions of static and dynamic coefficients of friction, the standard of measure used to determine the slip-resistance of a floor surface
  • Review of the ANSI/NFSI standards related to floor safety
  • Review of some of the other issues related to floor safety such as doormats, single steps, short stairways and ramps.

July 11/Seattle: Collaborative Resolution of Will Contests: Understanding the law and strategies for resolution

The King County Bar Association was the first county bar association in the country to create a Collaborative Law Section and is taking a new leadership role by being the first Bar Association in the Country to offer basic training in Collaborative Law that includes a significant focus on practice outside family law.
What makes this training unique is that it is being offered in monthly two hour modules allowing participants to get as little or as much training as they want and to focus their training on the substantive areas of law that are of greatest interest to them.  The trainings are offered at no additional cost to all members of the KCBA Collaborative Law Section. The section will issue certificates of completion of this basic training to participants taking the three mandatory units and at least seven total units.
