A properly drafted and updated employee handbook not only states the terms, conditions, and expectations of employment, but can also help employers defend against claims of discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and other employment law claims. Employers who conduct business in multiple jurisdictions and industries must be diligent in making sure that employment policies are compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
