May 19: Climate Disclosures: What The SEC, ISSB, & Your Investors Want To Know

The moment ESG attorneys have been waiting for has arrived. The SEC recently proposed a climate disclosure rule that has corporate legal departments and law firm practitioners alike wondering how to prepare for what the final rule may require. Simultaneously, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has proposed a draft standard for “Climate-related Disclosures” that is currently open for comment. How are companies currently reporting these issues? What are the emerging industry standards? And how should companies message their actions to their investors?
This webinar will explore the proposed rule and the ISSB draft standard together, highlighting potential implications for public companies. Our experts will delve into what some of the emerging standards are, and also where it may make sense to deviate from those standards. Our panel will include perspectives from the legal community, as well as the investor community, to provide practical, actionable, takeaways for attorneys preparing these disclosures.
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the current SEC proposed rule and what the likely outcome for the proposal is.
  • Understand the ISSB standard for climate-related disclosures and how it may work with the new SEC rule.
  • Explore emerging standards for disclosure across select industries, and if, or when, to deviate from those standards.
  • Delve into the investor perspective on these matters to better address investor requests for information or disclosure on these issues.
