Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and other emerging technologies, while holding the promise of helping lawyers serve their clients efficiently and effectively, can also raise many complex ethical issues. Although an attorney’s ethical obligations remain unchanged regardless of technology relied upon in practice, in certain respects, the current rules of professional conduct may not have entirely “caught up” with emerging AI technology. This seminar will explore the evolution of tools leveraging AI in legal practice and will cover the ethical issues arising out of the use of AI in the practice of law.
