October 16: AI and the California Workplace: New Regulations and New Obligations

On October 1, 2025, new regulations aimed at protecting employees and applicants from potentially discriminatory employment decisions made using AI-based tools took effect in California. These regulations come with a host of new requirements and obligations. They also create potential for new claims and increased liability for the unsuspecting employer.
With a focus on California’s regulations, this webinar will guide employment counsel and HR professionals through the legal risks and compliance challenges posed by AI-driven hiring, performance management, and employee monitoring tools. We will spotlight real-world litigation such as Mobley v. Workday, where AI screening tools are under scrutiny for potential disparate impact, discuss expanded civil rights protections for automated decision-making systems, and review California’s other new laws, including the AI Transparency Act and GenAI Training Data Transparency Act.
We will also look at what’s happening in other states and at the federal level to help you keep ahead of the “AI wave.”
