May 9/St. Paul, MN : Access to Justice for People with Developmental Disabilities

An esteemed panel, including the Honorable Donovan W. Frank, U.S. District Court Judge, James C. Backstrom, Dakota County Attorney,  Shamus O'Meara, Johnson & Condon, P.A.  and Colleen Wieck, Executive Director, Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities, will discuss the elimination of bias against people with developmental disabilities.  Topics will include historical perspective and overview, fundamental legal rights, and issues of access to justice including representation, meetings and interviews, witness competency and court proceedings.
