May 16: Minneapolis - Asylum Claims in Removal Proceedings

This training is targeted at attorneys with a basic level of asylum experience who are interested in representing clients in pursuing their asylum claims before the immigration court. The training will explain the various procedural paths that lead client’s asylum claim into removal proceedings and discuss the existing record that may have developed before the case reaches the court. It will navigate attorneys through the master calendar hearing process through the individual merits hearing. The training will also focus on preparing your client for direct and cross examination, objecting in immigration court and preserving issues on the record for appeal.
